Morton National Park Fitzroy Falls
If spending a week in a remote (and potentially haunted) manor, surrounded by glorious wooded vistas and photogenic waterfalls sounds like your idea of a relaxing retreat, then prepare to be jealous.
This weekend I'm heading to the Southern Highlands of NSW to join the Inkubator team at the Screen Australia / Storylabs Digital Ignition Multi-Platform Clinic. The team and I will be working through an intensive week-long workshop to further develop Cave, an interactive documentary produced by the WA Museum about megafauna fossils found in the Nullabor.
The workshop has an impressive list of mentors, and an amazing cast of screen projects that are going to be put through the multi-platform wringer. There will be some real veterans attending the workshop, with a number of mentors having veritable decades worth of game design and game writing experience.
For this upcoming week I plan to be a sponge, soaking up the vast seas of information and knowledge pooling in that isolated manor.
And perhaps a little bit of an adventurer - how could you not, with such stunning environments available to be wandered around? Surely some inspiration for a ghost story or two will present itself.
